Welcome to the MTSA

The Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School was one of the first 100 schools nationally to be designated as a Teaching School. This status recognises the outstanding practice in the school itself and its track record of working collaboratively to support the development of other schools.

The Medway Teaching School Alliance (MTSA), established since September 2011, now comprises of more than 30 schools from Medway. School partners represent primary, secondary, special, faith, selective and independent schools and academies drawn from across the rural and urban districts of Medway.

MTSA is supported by strategic partnerships with Canterbury Christ Church University, Medway Local Authority, The Southern Educational Leadership Trust (SELT), The Rochester Diocese and Teach First.

MTSA Vision

MTSA's over-arching aim is to improve the outcomes of young people in Medway Schools working together to continuously improve the quality of teaching, learning and leadership in our schools. We do this by sharing expertise, providing support for school improvement, training and developing our staff, identifying and nurturing talented leaders and developing school-led initial teacher education.

We work strategically with partners and schools to ensure that the support available to schools is of the highest quality, is well co-ordinated and targeted to where the need is greatest.
