Gary Wilson is one of the country’s leading experts on raising boys’ achievement.  He is a freelance education consultant, speaker, trainer, author and former teacher of twenty-seven years.  Gary has advised and delivered training in over a thousand schools and over thirty LAs across the UK.  He endorses the power of the whole-school approach to motivate boys to achieve their full potential.

Gary is returning to the MTSA after very well received previous visits.  The online session covers setting the context of boys’ achievement, outlines the barriers to achievement and looks at effective strategies for breaking those barriers down. It will cover peer pressure, teacher expectations, developing literacy, with a particular focus on boys and writing, emotional intelligence, engaging parents and how we talk to boys.  Gary will also talk about boys in the pandemic and much more besides.

This event is suitable for both Primary and Secondary colleagues.
