Language Support Programme

DfE/CfBT Language Support Programme (Spring 2012 – Spring 2013)

34 teaching school alliances across England, comprising some 324 schools, have been working with CfBT Education Trust on the Languages Support Programme with funding from the DfE. Teaching schools have a leading role in the training and professional development of teachers and aim to raise standards through the provision of school-to-school support.

The innovative language projects and action research developed in the course of this programme are aimed at creating a body of best practice in the teaching and learning of languages. The work has benefitted from the direct involvement of headteachers and senior leaders, enabling primary, special and secondary schools to work together effectively. Materials, case studies, reports and other resources produced by our alliance are freely available and include:

Project 1 : Language Improvement Programme for Primary/Special School Teaching Staff
Project 2: Developing Speaking (AT2) Skills in Secondary Schools
Project 3: Transition KS2 – KS3 MFL and Assessment
