MTSA Headteachers and Chairs of Governors have developed, piloted and evaluated a Peer Challenge and Review framework.
Working in triads, school leaders work collaboratively to review an improvement theme in each school, supporting the school’s own self-evaluation and sharing expertise.
The model builds powerful and trustful relationships between the school leaders who visit each other’s schools and often leads to on-going collaboration and sharing of expertise beyond the initial review.
The pilot involved 6 schools and from July 2013 a further 9 schools are embarking on peer reviews. Our goal is for schools to cascade the model so that all MTSA schools are engaged in a peer challenge partnership.
You can access the evaluation of the pilot and guidance on setting up your own pilot below.
Schools can either develop their own triads, or we can work with you to broker links with other appropriate schools. If you are interested in participating in the Peer Challenge programme and would like more information, please contact us.
