Masters Credits and Degrees

Our ambition is to ensure that opportunities to achieve Masters-level credits will be available to participants as they engage in a range of our programmes. Through agreement with CCCU (and subject to agreement) these credits may contribute towards the award of a Masters qualification. For teachers and other staff this will enable a gradual progression towards an Masters qualification, making it more accessible and more affordable.

For trainee teachers

Our Initial Teacher Training already includes Masters level credits through the PGCE qualification.

Open Module in Action Research - For NQTs

Our NQT programme now includes an Open Module in Action Research (20 credits) which enables new teachers to carry out an action research project linked to their own context and professional development and which provides an introduction to research methodologies and critical writing. 

Writing Day - For teacher researchers

For teachers who are carrying out research work, either through TOTAL or as part of school-based action research initiatives, we offer a Writing Day to assist in the preparation for sharing the outcomes of their research. 20 credits are available as an outcome of a written submission.

Teaching and Learning Academy

The Teaching and Learning Academy is an innovative way of helping teachers and those working support roles in schools to improve their practice and fain professional recognition for doing so By encouraging teachers and support staff to try new or different approaches, it leaders to higher standards of teaching and a wealth of new ideas that can be shared across the school and beyond.
