Shelley is the coordinator of Science and D.T. At Featherby Junior School. Since her appointment to this role three years ago, Science has moved from an area of concern highlighted by previous Ofsted Inspections to one of strength. During the last inspection Science was closely inspected and graded good with outstanding elements.
Although her specialism is Science Shelley has also worked alongside colleagues to strengthen and develop the application of skills and knowledge in a range of other subjects including D.T., Numeracy and Literacy.
Over the last few years Shelley has been fortunate to work alongside and support other leaders in a range of settings and key stages. “I am fortunate to work in a school where I have had a range of opportunities for professional development. I believe in the importance of continuing professional development and that everyone has a part to play in school improvement. We are all facing immense pressure however through my work I have seen that and many of the issues, constraints and problems we may face as school leaders and educators are replicated time and time again. As an SLE I believe that school to school support networks can be successful and that we should all be given the opportunities to share, learn and support each other as professionals.”
