Vicky Aspin is an SLE with specialisms in Special Educational Needs and Behaviour. Vicky is currently the EYFS/Key Stage One Leader at Abbey Court Community Special School where she has been for the last 8 years and prior to that taught in a mainstream primary school. She is always keen to gain further understanding and continue to learn and has gained a Postgraduate certificate in autism from Birmingham University.
In her role teaching pupils with severe and profound learning disabilities, she has to be a creative practitioner who reflects and strives to improve her teaching and works to enthuse teachers in her department to do the same. She is committed to promoting progress for pupils who have barriers to learning and enjoys working with other professionals to problem solve and support the development of practice when working with these pupils. Vicky has supported local primary SENCOs and has had positive feedback on the impact it has had on pupil progress.
